Mission Control
Centralized Business Operations Hub
Built a centralized business operations hub inside Slack that consolidates customer activity, operational events, and workflow actions from multiple platforms into a single command center.
The business owner was spending significant time switching between systems to understand customer activity, monitor operations, and take action on important events.
Like many growing businesses, this company relied on a collection of specialized tools to run its operations. Customer information lived in one platform, contracts were managed in another, payments were processed elsewhere, and onboarding information flowed through several additional systems.
While each individual tool performed its function well, the business owner lacked a centralized view of what was happening across the organization. To stay informed, she needed to constantly jump between platforms, check dashboards, monitor notifications, and manually piece together the state of the business.
To solve this, I built Mission Control — a Slack-based operational command center designed to bring the business directly into the place where the team already communicated.
Using Zapier and Slack, I connected the company's operational systems into a network of automated workflows. Events such as signed contracts, completed payments, onboarding milestones, form submissions, and customer activity are automatically routed into dedicated Slack channels where they can be monitored in real time.
The platform goes beyond passive notifications. Team members can also initiate actions directly from Slack without needing to log into the underlying systems. For example, when a new customer requires onboarding credentials, a team member can trigger a workflow from Slack that automatically generates and sends the appropriate email containing login information and next steps.
The result is a centralized operating layer that sits on top of the company's existing software stack. Rather than managing multiple dashboards, the business owner can simply open Slack and immediately understand the current state of the business.
For early-stage companies in particular, Mission Control provides a lightweight way to create operational visibility without investing in expensive custom software. It allows founders to monitor customer activity, respond to important events, and maintain a real-time pulse on the business from a single interface.
